Got a bad pool with these options
1. Bad Orzhov deck with a bunch of durdly cards without a decent win condition
2. Bad Gruul deck splashing blue for a couple of Simic cards

I chose No.2 but my partner says I should’ve gone with No.1. Both decks sucked in my opinion so I don’t regret anything though. Went 1-2 and the only games I won were through bluff attacks and pretending to rage attack with no out and bloodrush to there mis-blocks. Well I’m really glad I didn’t get this pool at the GP.

MAN!! I WANT TO PLAY MODERN
Got into top8 with a sweet Gruul Deck

Gruul (6-1)

1 Experiment One
2 Greenside Watcher
1 Disciple of the Old Ways
1 Firefist Striker
1 Bomber Corps
1 Ember Beast
1 Boros Reckoner
1 Slaughterhorn
1 Ivy Lane Denizen
1 Rubblebelt Raiders
1 Viashino Shanktail
1 Scab-Clan Charger
2 Zhur-Taa Swine
1 Ruination Wurm

1 Pit Fight
1 Gruul Charm
1 Forced Adaptation
1 Massive Raid
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging

9 Mountain
8 Forest

The mana curve was perfect and being able to go straight Gruul with no splashes made the deck consistent.

Having the Top8 draft being my first time drafting Gatecrash, I really didn’t know how to evaluate cards.
But I managed to draft a aggressive Boros deck.

Boros (2-1)

2 Foundry Street Denizen
1 Legion Loyalist
1 Truefire Paladin
1 Sunehome Guildmage
2 Syndic of Tithes
1 Bomber Corps
1 Skyknight Legionnaire
2 Ember Beast
2 Warmind Infantry
2 Scorchwalker
1 Towering Thunderfist
1 Pit Fight
1 Homing Lightning
1 Martial Glory
1 Knight Watch
1 Massive Raid
1 Mugging
1 Madcap Skills

1 Boros Guildgate
6 Plains
10 Mountain

As I said before I had no idea how to evaluate cards in draft so i sticked to Red and left my options open for Gruul or Boros.
It didn’t pay off as I expected though, ending up having to play two Foundry Street Denizen was miserable.
I played against 2 Simic decks in Rd1&2 and ended up facing a well built Orzhov control deck in the finals.
Knowing that my deck really didn’t have a way to win against all those defenders and removal spells I happily accepted the prize split my opponent offered.
Sigh.....well I guess I’ll get some draft practices in before next week’s GPT.

I lost to Aggro-Loam and Kiki-Pod. Both 2-1 and close games.
Aggro-Loam was completely off my radar. I put up a good fight but without drawing any removal Countryside Crusher crushed my face in for 11 damage gg.
Kiki-Pod player was a Top8er of GP Yokohama last year. Close match game3 but Glen Elendra Archmage didn’t let me Rites for Elesh Norn gg.

Just can’t stop playing Gifts. It’s too much fun!!
